Churchill Winners!!

I'm so sorry  I am finally getting around to this. As you can imagine, the holidays have been keeping me busy. I've had so much around the house to catch up on after being sick for almost 2 1/2 weeks. I don't even want to think about the laundry pile that is slowly getting smaller or the fridge that is practically empty.

Anyway, on to the winners!

The winner of Swag Bundle #1 is.... LISA W. from Valdosta, GA.

The winner of Swag Bundle #2 is...ANNA S. from Germantown, TN

The winner of Swag Bundle #3 is...KATHLEEN F. from Charlotte, NC

Winners, please contact me! Again, thank you SO much to all the winners and those who donated to the swag bundles. Y'all are amazing! :) From the bottom of my heart, thank you, thank you! I plan on calling SA Animal Services tomorrow to see how Churchill is doing. I will report anything I find! :)

Churchill ASAP!

Hey y'all! Thanks so much for all the sweet emails and comments. After my second doctor's visit, they decided that not only do I have bronchitis (which apparently takes forever to clear up) but I have a bad sinus infection on top of that. These past couple of weeks have been horrendous. Seriously.

Anyway, I've got a ton of things waiting for me when I get better...mounds of laundry, many HSC orders, and sweet Churchill!!!! I took off the donations icon as I'm no longer accepting them. If you missed all the mess, basically, I was unable to get most of the donations as I had to attach my bank account to the paypal. To me, that seemed a bit fishy. I wouldn't want to send money to some crazy dog lady whose bank account was attached to the donations page and I'm assuming y'all wouldn't want to either!! So... I'm praying those who got their donations back sent them in via snail mail. (I still have a list of the names for the drawing.)

As soon as I can get to it, I'll tally up the total of donations AND get the winners of the drawing out. We had sooo many good sponsors and soooo much awesome goodies. I can't wait to see who wins!!!

Click here for updated news on Churchill. ;)

Thank you again for opening up your wallets to sweet Churchill.

Happy Friday and thanks for your patience. I'll be back up and blogging again soon, I hope!! :)

Churchill Update (again)

Alright, this is what I'm going to do...

If you made a donation and it got returned to you, PLEASE send that money directly to the Animal Services in San Antonio.

Churchill's Fund
Animal Care Services
4710 State Highway 151
San Antonio, Texas 78227

For the drawing, I will use the names that I collected from Paypal. Even if the money got sent back to you. You are still entered. If you donated by sending money to them in the first place, please tell me and I will enter you as well. We'll be on the honor system with that one, y'all.
Any money that is left over (if you donated by gift) will be covered by me and I'll eventually just have to get a new bank account hooked up so that I can get paid back. That way, 100% of the money goes to Churchill!!

All winners will be announced in a couple of week. Sponsors, please stay tuned.

And finally, all I'm going to say about this whole blog non-sense is that I'm not in high school anymore. I don't have the time, nor the patience to indulge such drama. I'm comfortable and happy with who I am and what I'm about. Period. And I don't need a blog or commenters to validate my life. I blog because I love to write. And I love meeting new people. If my lifestyle offends you, get over it and move on. Focus your attention on living positively! Thankyouandgoodnight.

Happy hump day y'all. Say something nice to just one person today. And be sincere in the compliment. It will make their day!

xoxo Y

The Deal with Churchill

Ok, here is the deal with Churchill...

Many of your donations have been returned to you, as most of your have noticed. It is not that we're not still accepting donations, it is that right now, I am unable to. Because Paypal requires you to have a bank account tied in with your Paypal account, it will not let me reach that money. I thought about linking it to mine, but #1, I thought that might seem fishy, like I was trying to steal money and #2, mine is already attached to my Her Southern Charm business.

Right now, things are at a stand still. The only thing I can think of doing is writing a personal check for all the money and then linking it to my account in the end and getting paid back for it. Does that make sense? I want to keep everyone who donated in the loop as I would want to know where my donations were going, as I'm sure you are.

If you did get the money back and would still like to donate, then please send it back (AS A GIFT!) and it will be there while I continue to work on this.

Please let me know if my rambling makes sense and if everyone would be ok with my suggestion.

Thanks!
Jennifer

PS- the winner of apron giveaway is.....MRS SHORTCAKE, who has a gorgeous blog, by the way! :) Email me and I'll get you set up with Melissa! :)

Last Year's Fall Interior Decor

I LOVE the fall season! It's my fave! And I know people say it all the time, but it seriously is for me. In fact, summer is on the bottom of my season favorites so I'm extra excited when fall comes around because it means my most hated season is ending!

And of course, when it comes to decorating for fall, I like to do it right! Here are some pictures of my fall decor from last year. I plan on taking all e autumn decorations out tomorrow to get started put things up.

I loved my fall house last year, but after seeing all the farmhouse chic goodies at Super Pie Farm House, Aunt Ruthie has inspired me to put a little of these whimsical touches here and there. So I got a some new farmhouse/country feel goodies to put up this year.

Of course when it is all finished, I'll take pictures and post theme here. Do you have a harvest 'theme' you plan on doing?

Churchill UPDATE:

Yesterday, I spoke with the Animal Services in San Antonio. I asked how fundraising was going and I asked how Churchill was doing. Want to good or bad news first? I always take the bad news first to get it over with so we'll do that. Well, the bad news is that sweet Churchill has tested positive for heart worms. If you're a dog lover, you know what sort of horrible treatment this is for a canine to undergo. After all the treatments, he has to be confined to an area for one month straight-alone. Pretty much like solitary confinement for something they couldn't do themselves. :( Spread the word on responsible pet ownership!!

But, the good news is that Her Southern Charm readers have raised over $300!!! I am so overwhelmed and blessed to have such awesome and generous readers. And this includes those who were unable to donate monetarily but did so by emailing friends and family, blogging about Churchill and spreading the word. :)

I would like to ask that anyone who still needs to donate do so by choosing to send the money as a gift instead of a donation. Paypal seems to be taking their cut out the donations but the two who sent them as gifts are not getting anything taken out of it and are able to be donating their full amount. Let's give this money all to Churchill, not to paypal's outrageous fees. Please me sure you send it as a gift!

Also, I've got another swag bundle to put out. This one may be mismatched as it's got some super cute home decor stuff as well as preppy stuff. :) I'll get it fixed up soon so everyone can see. That's 4 chances to win goodies! Yeah!!!

Happy two days till the weekend! ;)

Our first RV adventure!

We've arrived at our first RV destination- a little RV resort north of the small college town, Denton. I think 'resort' was a little bit of a stretch seeing as we already saw an old man walking around wearing nothing but jeans and a pair of suspenders! (Although Southern Hubby said this counted as a shirt around these parts.)

Unfortunately, as soon as pulled up, we started having trouble. For some reason, SH couldn't get the hitch off of the trailer. It was stuck on there pretty good. After about 15 minutes of working on it, somehow it came off but poor SH was already sweaty and tired. (He was adamant that I not ask for help from the other men camping around us. Men, sheesh!) I immediately went inside with the pups who were having some trouble breathing seeing as it was hot and very humid. Thankfully, SH got the electricity going and things cooled off.

I got to work cleaning and getting things sorted out while SH did some things on the outside like hook up the water hoses. As I started unpacking, I began realizing that there were many (many) things we had forgotten. For example, pots and pans to cook in, a cookie sheet for the cookies I had planned on making that night, trash bags, a sponge to wash the dishes, the toilet chemicals we left in the car at home, paper towels, etc. Oh, and compound all that with the huge tension headache I was having. Things were looking disastrous! So was our little Bee Hive.

After a while, we got most things sorted out. I took a little nap with the pups in the hopes that my bad headache would go away and SH did a little work on the computer. (They had wireless here on the grounds so he was able to log in, thankfully.)

After I woke up, we ate an early dinner (tuna sandwiches and chips thanks to our forgetfulness) and watched Texas beat up on Tech on SH new TV (Hook 'Em!!). Girls, I literally had to force him to get a 19". He was hoping somehow to fit a 26" in here but I thought that was a little much. Thankfully he gave in and we ended up with a great little TV! It fits nicely.

Even though the trip started a bit rough, I think we're going to love it! We settled in nicely and enjoyed spending time in our little Bee Hive. We're hoping to get out next weekend too, although as I type this, it's thundering pretty loudly. Hopefully the ground dries up by the weekend!

Also, please don't forget to don't forget about sweet Mr. Churchill. Sadly, this is what his paypal fund looks like today. If you don't feel comfortable donating via paypal, then please just send a check straight to the animal shelter. I'll have to use the honor system on this one. Send me an email and let me know you did donate so that you can be entered to win all the goodies.
And I've lowered the minimun entry to only one day's worth of Starbuck's coffee and a fat free slice of blueberry coffee cake- $5! That's all you need to donate to enter to win one of Churchill's fab swag gift bundles!!! Let's make this happen for this sweet gift from God!

UPDATE: If you donated to Churchill, I DID get the money! I just needed to go into paypal to confirm the email connected with the account. Sorry about that!!! I'll have first name only list of those who did donate. Thanks so much yall! My heart is bursting!!! -jrb

Here is the link of people who's donations have gone through:

1. Anna S.
2. Baylee C.
3. Stephanie P.
4. Lyndsay S.
5. Lindsay R.

6. Kelley B
7. Susan E. K.

8. Margaret C.

I've decided that since there are so many prizes, I'll be splitting them up into several little 'swag' bundles according to what they are. That way, there are more chances to win!!

OK, here's the deal, in order to enter you must donate at least $10 to Churchill's Fund. If you can, please consider more! :) All payments must go to Churchill's paypal account. You can either click on the Paypal button on my sidebar or send money to helpchurchill@gmail.com. I will be entering all those who donate into the drawing for one of these three awesome swag bundles. Send your Paypal reciept to helpchurchill@gmail.com so I can see that you have indeed made a donation and I will enter you! Please make sure that you use the correct email address so I can contact you if you win!! :) All donations must be in by October 18th.

Please note that 100% of your donations will be going to Churchill's recovery and none of these wonderfully generous sponsors were paid anything to donate- it was all done out of the kindness of their hearts. Please please support them by visiting their businesses.
